Sonia Bettencourt is a vocal talent who sings in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and English. She began singing at a very early age, participating in song festivals and winning first place for her soaring soprano vocals. Sonia is currently the lead singer of Band Faith, and she dedicates her vocal talents to the benefit album, Haiti- We Are There for You, sponsored by the UN. Sonia kindly joined Artist Spotlight to discuss her music and her new project to support the children of Haiti.
What is the greatest inspiration for your songs?
The love I feel for my family, for life , for music.
Do you have a favorite song you have recorded or a song that is particularly dear to your heart?
Yes, the song "Angel". It touches my heart deeply.

Oh yes, the wonderful Andrea Bocelli
What message would you like your music to convey to the listener?
The message of hope in life and in love and that no matter how bad things might be at the moment, tomorrow will always bring new hopes.

Can you tell us more about the charities you support?
At the moment, I'm participating in a CD (Haiti-We are there for you) that will be released at the end of this month with the song "Make A Stand". This CD will be sponsored by the UN and aims to help, with its sales, to rebuild schools in Haiti so the welfare of the children is restored.
What projects will you be working on this year? Any plans to tour?
The release of my debut album, the Haiti project and setting shows to promote my work
